In addition, even if the collision involved a relatively minor impact, accident victims are still entitled under Texas law to receive compensation for their injuries and reimbursement for the damage to their vehicle.  And even in minor accidents, the insurance companies will try to take advantage of unsuspecting accident victims.  I know.  I saw it too many times while working for the insurance company.
